Alt Straight Men

Though I am a poet, I also am a woman in STEAM. And I have brought these two identities together to create an original taxonomy of the Types of Alt Straight Men. There are only 5, though some have a sub-category. You may know an ASM or two, have dated one or several in the past; perhaps you even identify as an ASM yourself? I am here to help.

I most recently presented The Types of Alt Straight Men: Live Research Presentation in Philadelphia on May 15 at 7:30pm at Khyber Pass Pub. This was a sold out show. I gave my PowerPoint presentation outlining everything to know about the Types of Alt Straight Men, and then I offered live diagnoses on stage. Graham Irvin, a self-identified Alt Straight Man, read about Hemingway. People took home flyers. A documentary crew recorded interviews with attendees.

Previously, I presented this research on the University of Pennsylvania’s Philadelphia campus in November of 2024, and then again at C’mon Everybody in Brooklyn, New York on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, as part of Two Reports, a show with the poet Courtney Bush. Courtney read a newsletter from her phone in The Courtney Report (Live Experience). I gave my interactive research presentation on the Types of Alt Straight Men.

I have previously offered brochures for sale through my website. The five brochures are: Male Lesbian, Gay for Pussy, True Freak, Sk8r, and Stoic. Currently, however, I am all sold out.
